Fort Worth, TX — Rosa Emma Ortega's late goals powered Western Texas College to a 2-2 comeback draw against Hill College on Friday afternoon, while the Lady Westerners also celebrated a significant milestone by surpassing their total goals scored from both the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Ortega scored twice in the final five minutes, marking her third multi-goal game and raising her season tally to six. She is the first Lady Westerner since 2021 to record six or more goals in a single season.
Western Texas finished with nine shots compared to Hill's 12, while goalkeeper Mika Stanfield turned away four shots over 90 minutes. The Lady Westerners also held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
Western Texas continues its conference slate on Thursday, September 26, traveling to Ranger, Texas, for a 2:00 p.m. matchup against Ranger College.
