Borger, TX – Savhanna Thompson and Anayah Sinclair led the Lady Westerners' offense with nine kills apiece, but Western Texas College fell in straight sets to Frank Phillips College, 25-18, 25-10, 25-21, on Saturday afternoon in conference play.
Thompson hit a team-high .350, also marking a season high for her, while adding five digs and a service ace, and Sinclair contributed five digs of her own. Aubrie Frazier provided four kills on a .273 clip, while setter Sydney Roberts distributed 14 assists and picked up seven digs. Defensively, Addyson Whitson and Maja Ludyga combined for 1.5 blocks at the net.
The Lady Westerners pushed late in the third set, hitting .241 as a team, but the Plainsmen capitalized on key points to secure the sweep.
Lady Westeners will return home for their next matchup on Wednesday, September 24, when they host New Mexico Junior College at 6:00 PM inside the WTC Gymnasium in Snyder.
