Clarendon, TX – The Lady Westerners (32-22, 15-9) closed out their 2026 regular season on a high note, extending their winning streak to 12 games with a doubleheader sweep over the Clarendon Bulldogs, winning 15-3 and 11-1. The sweep marks the fourth straight season the Westerners have taken all games from the Bulldogs.
Game One
Janie Rodriguez continued her hot streak at the plate, recording five RBIs on three hits. The Westerners struck first in the opening inning after a Briyana Medina double brought in the game's first run.
Western Texas exploded offensively in the second inning, scoring five runs on four hits. Rodriguez delivered a two-run single, Honey Morales added another two-run single, and Ava Ramriez scored after tagging up.
The momentum carried into the third inning, where the Westerners plated six runs on six hits. Anely Paz drove in one with a single, Rodriguez added two more RBIs with another base hit, Ramirez and Morales each contributed RBI hits, and Medina capped the inning with an RBI single.
Bryiana Barajas got the start in the circle, allowing four hits and three runs over three innings while striking out five and walking two.
Game Two
In the regular season finale, the Westerners wasted no time getting on the board, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Ava Ramriez drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, and Honey Morales added another after drawing a bases-loaded walk.
Western Texas extended its lead in the third inning when Ithalia Ozuna hit a sacrifice fly, and Kaylee Upton doubled down the left field line, each driving in a run.
The offense broke the game open in the fourth inning with five runs on five hits. Laney Vasquez singled in two runs, Paz added a sacrifice fly, Ozuna doubled in another run, and an error brought in one more.
Madison Roberts earned the win in the circle, allowing five hits and one unearned run over five innings while striking out three and walking none.
