Ira, TX- Lady Westerners Softball team (20-18, 3-5) collected two WJCAC wins over Frank Phillips College Friday morning, 4-0 and 10-2.
Game One
All four runs came in the bottom of the first inning. With an error, walk, and single sequence, the bases were loaded with no outs. Lady Westerners capitalized on Lady Plainsmen miscues for three runs. Briana Media doubled to bring home the fourth run. Honey Morales and Laney Vazques finished with multi-hits. Ithalia Ozuna tossed a complete game shutout, striking out five.
Game Two
A six-run third inning saw Vasquez single, scoring one run, Ava Ramriez single, scoring one run, Upton draw a walk, scoring one run, Rodriguez draw a walk, scoring one run, Marks ground out, scoring one run, and Juarez draw a walk, scoring one run. Lady Westerners got to work quickly and early in the first inning with two singles. Juarez singled, scoring two runs. Madison Roberts also tossed a complete game, throwing 5.0 innings, allowing two runs off of five hits and striking out three.

Friday, April 10th, the Lady Westerners will face Odessa College in a doubleheader at United Field.
