Odessa, TX- Western Texas College Lady Westerners traveled to Odessa, Texas, for their final road match of the 2025 season, where they fell to Odessa College in three sets, 14-25, 20-25, 15-25.
The Wranglers jumped to a quick 6-0 lead in the opening set before the Lady Westerners battled back to close the gap to 9-11. However, Odessa regained momentum and took the first set 25-14.
Set two followed a similar pattern, as Odessa again opened on a 6-0 run. The Lady Westerners fought hard to pull within two points at 19-21, but the Wranglers held off the rally to claim the second set 25-20.
Both teams traded points early in the final set, tying things up at 4-4. Western Texas then took a 7-4 lead before the Wranglers responded to even the score at 10-10. Odessa closed strong with a 5-0 run to finish the match, taking the third set 25-15.
Anayah Sinclair led the Lady Westerners with six kills, while Savhanna Thompson added four with a strong defensive performance, recording 11 digs—her fifth match this season with double-digit digs. Sydney Roberts paced the offense with eight assists and one ace, surpassing 400 assists on the season. Addyson Whitson chipped in three kills and two service aces, and Sofia Salcido added one ace and seven digs.
The Lady Westerners will return home for their match on Wednesday, October 29, when they host Clarendon College for Pink Out Night at 6:00 p.m. in the WTC Gymnasium.
