No. 11 Lady Westerners Battle Weather, Finish Third at Home Invite
Snyder, TX – The No. 11-ranked Western Texas College women's golf team competed on their home course while hosting the Westerner Women's Spring Invite at Sammy Baugh Golf Course, battling tough rainy conditions throughout the event.
Despite the weather, the Lady Westerners showed resilience. They opened with a team score of 321 (+33) in round one and improved significantly in round two, shooting a 309 (+21). The course played at a par 72 with a total yardage of 6,266.
Western Texas finished third overall with a team total of 630 (321–309). Top-ranked Odessa College claimed the tournament title with a team score of 590 (306–284).
Leading the Lady Westerners was Caitlin Feeney, who tied for sixth place with a two-round score of 151 (77–74) and recorded four birdies.
Wildah Jarestam placed 12th with a score of 158 (80–78), also finishing with four birdies.
Khensani Mhotsha tied for 14th after carding a 161 (83–78), leading the team with six birdies and marking a season-high performance.
Lupita Barbosa finished tied for 16th with a consistent two rounds of 81, totaling 162 (81–81).
