How We Got There
Western Texas College trailed early, falling behind 7–2 in the opening minutes of the first quarter, but responded with a run to take a 9–7 lead at the 4:22 mark. The Thunderbirds answered late in the quarter, reclaiming control and taking a 16–11 advantage after one.
In the second quarter, the Lady Westerners made another push, cutting the deficit to two at 18–16, but New Mexico Junior College closed the half strong to extend its lead to 28–18 at the break.
