No. 8 Western Texas Finishes McLennan Invitational at Bear Ridge

Waco, TX - No. 8 Western Texas College men's golf team finished the McLennan Community College Invitational with a 54-hole team total of 903 (+39) at Bear Ridge Golf Club in Waco, Texas, a par-72, 7,478-yard layout.

The Westerners opened with a 301 (+13) before recording their best round on day two with a 293 (+9). They finished with a 309 (+21) in the final round.

Max Vergara led WTC with rounds of 74, 73, and 74 to finish at 221 (+5). Huey Thowson followed closely with scores of 74, 73, and 78 for 225 (+9).

Jiri Kinnunen was one shot back at 226 (+10), highlighted by his even-par 72 in the second round. Oscar Freeman carded rounds of 76, 75, and 80 to finish at 231 (+15), while Mason Hicks closed with scores of 74, 80, and 86 for a total of 240 (+24).

The Westerners will now focus on the High Country Shootout at Links at Sierra Blanca in Ruidoso, New Mexico, which is scheduled for September 22–23.
