Westerners Earn 96–87 Road Victory Behind Dehwe and Homelius
Edmond, Okla. – A pair of 20-point performances from Anesu Dehwe and Isak Homelius powered Western Texas College to a 96–87 win over Murray State College on the road Tuesday night.
The Westerners jumped ahead early, leading 22–16 midway through the first half and taking a 46–39 advantage into halftime. Murray State surged in the second half to grab a 68–63 lead with 11 minutes remaining, but Western Texas responded. A clutch three-pointer from Homelius reclaimed the lead at 73–72, igniting a late run that carried the Westerners to a 96-87 win.
Homelius led all scorers with 25 points, hitting 13-of-14 free throws and adding six assists, while Dehwe followed with 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Calven Charles added 13 points and eight rebounds, and Rayan Fadika chipped in 12 points off the bench.
As a team, Western Texas shot 56.7% from the field compared to Murray State's 36.6%, and outrebounded the Aggies 44–30. Despite committing 19 turnovers, the Westerners' efficient shooting and balanced scoring secured the win.
