Houston, TX — Western Texas College baseball traveled to Houston to compete in the Tournament of Champions, hosted by San Jacinto College, over the weekend. The Westerners (1–6, 0–0) faced a tough slate and dropped all three games against nationally recognized competition.
Game One: Navarro College 14, Western Texas College 4
Western Texas College struck first against Navarro College, taking an early 1–0 lead in the top of the first inning when Dylan Malone singled to drive in Luke Trager. Navarro responded quickly, breaking the game open with an eight-run bottom of the second inning.
The Westerners showed flashes offensively throughout the game. Anderson Berndt connected on a solo home run to left field in the top of the third inning. Jackson Harris, Berndt, and Malone each recorded two hits, while Malone led the team with three RBIs, finishing 2-for-3 at the plate. Western Texas College also stole three bases in the contest.

Game Two: No. 18 San Jacinto College 11, Western Texas College 1
No. 18-ranked San Jacinto College pulled away with an eight-run rally in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 9–0 lead. The hosts added three more runs in the sixth to seal the 11–1 victory.
Western Texas College finished with six hits. The Westerners' lone run came in the top of the fifth when Dylan Malone singled sharply to left field, allowing Marcelo Torres to score.

Game Three: Seminole State College 15, Western Texas College 6
In the tournament finale, the Westerners fell 15–6 to RV Seminole State College. Western Texas College briefly tied the game at 1–1 in the bottom of the first inning when Dylan Malone launched a solo home run to left field.
The Westerners totaled 10 hits in the game. Berndt, Torres, and Malone each collected two hits, while Caven Fuentes, Anderson Berndt, Marcelo Torres, and Malone each drove in a run.
