Head Coach Jovany Macias enters his third season as the head coach of Western Texas College Men's Soccer team and the first season leading the Women’s Soccer team.

2017 (WTC): During the 2017-18 campaign, Macias lead the Westerners to an overall record of 9-5-2 and lead the men’s team to the Region V Finals.

2016 (WTC): He previously served as WTC men's interim head coach (Sept 2016 -March 2017) and the assistant coach for both men’s and women's assistant programs (July 2016 - Sept 16). As the interim head coach, Macias guided his program to an overall record of 8-5-2 and led the men's team to the Region V finals.  Macias comes to WTC after two seasons as a volunteer coach at Texas A&M International University.

As a player at Texas A&M International University, Macias was a two-time team captain and earned 1st team All-Heartland Conference, NSCAA DII All-South Central Region Team. Macias also earned several other honors including 4-time All-Conference, 2-time NSCAA DII All-South Central Region Team, Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, Heartland Freshmen of the Year, Dustdevils Best All-Around, and Dustdevils Athletic Director’s Award.

Macias played professionally with the Laredo Heat (PDL), Upward Stars (NPSL) and Midland- Odessa Sockers (PDL).  In the summer of 2016, Macias helped the Midland-Odessa Sockers make franchise history in claiming their first Southern Conference Championship and advancing to the PDL National Semifinals.

Macias graduated from Texas A&M International in 2015 and earned a bachelor’s degree Fitness and Sports.
